NARAN (“Company”) operates the Affirmation Counter app (“App”) in compliance with applicable laws, including the Korean Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and applicable U.S. state privacy laws, and establishes and discloses this Privacy Policy to protect users' personal information.

The App does not require account registration, and the Company does not collect directly identifying information such as your name, email address, or phone number. The App is provided free of charge and is monetized through advertising.

Section 1. Purpose of Processing Personal Information

The Company processes personal information for the following purposes, and does not use it for any purpose other than those stated below:

  • Providing affirmation matching and counting through voice recognition
  • App usage analytics, error diagnostics, and service improvement
  • Providing a free, ad-supported service (Google AdMob)

Section 2. Personal Information Processed

1. On-Device Data (Not Transmitted to the Company's Servers)

The following information is stored only on your device and is neither transmitted to nor collected by the Company's servers:

  • Affirmation text, goal counts, and progress
  • Statistics (completed days, streak days, time spent)
  • App settings and onboarding status

2. Voice Recognition

  • Microphone audio (for the purpose of speech-to-text conversion)

Your voice is transmitted to Apple (iOS) or Google (Android) speech recognition servers for conversion to text. The converted text is used only for affirmation matching and counting, and the Company does not store or collect the original audio.

3. Analytics (Firebase)

  • App usage events
  • Device information (device model, OS version, language)
  • Performance data and crash reports

Collected anonymously via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

  • Advertising identifier (iOS: IDFA, Android: Advertising ID)
  • Device and network information
  • Approximate location (based on IP address)
  • Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, etc.)

Precise location (GPS) is not collected.

Section 3. Information We Do Not Collect

The Company does not collect the following information in the App:

  • Precise location (GPS)
  • Contacts
  • Photos and videos
  • Health data
  • Financial information

Section 4. Retention and Usage Period

The Company retains and uses personal information for the following periods:

Section 5. Third-Party Provision and Processing

The Company does not sell your personal information. However, to provide the service, personal information may be processed through the following providers:

Voice recognition requires an internet connection, and voice data is processed in accordance with Apple's or Google's speech recognition privacy policies. Information collected and processed by AdMob and its advertising partners is handled in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy and Google Advertising Policies.

Section 6. Advertising

The App serves Google AdMob ads to provide the service free of charge. AdMob and its advertising partners may collect and process the advertising identifier, device and network information, approximate location (based on IP address), and ad interaction data (impressions, clicks) to deliver personalized ads. Precise location (GPS) is not collected.

Section 7. Consent and Your Choices

You can manage your consent to ad personalization and tracking in the following ways:

  • EEA, UK, and Switzerland: GDPR consent (Google UMP) is collected on first launch of the App, and you can change your consent at any time in the app settings.
  • Certain U.S. states: We provide the choices required under the applicable state privacy law.
  • iOS: You can choose whether to allow tracking through App Tracking Transparency (ATT).

Section 8. Rights of Data Subjects

You may exercise the following rights at any time:

  • Remove on-device data by deleting it in-app or uninstalling the app
  • Change your ad personalization consent (see Section 7)
  • Request access to, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing of your personal information

You may exercise these rights by contacting the Personal Information Protection Officer in writing or by email, and the Company will act without delay.

Section 9. Destruction of Personal Information

The Company promptly destroys personal information when the purpose of processing has been achieved or the retention period has elapsed.

  • On-device data: Destroyed when deleted in-app or when the app is uninstalled
  • Data processed by providers such as Firebase and AdMob: Destroyed upon expiration of the retention period under each provider's policy

Section 10. App Permissions

The App uses the following permissions to provide the service. You can change permissions at any time in your device settings.

  • Microphone: Affirmation voice input
  • Speech Recognition: Converting voice to text
  • Notifications: Reminders and other notifications (optional)

Section 11. Security Measures

To protect your personal information, the Company stores affirmation data only on your device and does not transmit it to the Company's servers. When data is transmitted, it uses the encrypted communication provided by the respective platforms (Apple and Google) and service providers, among other measures necessary to ensure security.

Section 13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy is effective as of July 7, 2026. Any additions, deletions, or corrections due to changes in laws or policies will be announced through the app or website at least 7 days prior to their effective date.
